Grandhero - Rota

well I wrote this one my grandma asked me to show one of my poems... so i wrote something new.. let me know how is it.. this is written more in a song style of writing...and the image for this has been made after almost a year and half.... The ink had been done on 11th July 2008. The date marks my grandfather's 2nd death anniversary. My tribute to my hero ...........

Grandhero
------------

When I and my mother visited our native place

Grandma and grandpa greeted us with happy face

I cherished my long summers spent there

Love and warmth would flavour the air

When I was kid, I was pampered a lot

Grandpa would be waiting with a candy for his tot

The sight of him, would make me run, make me jump and embrace

Snatching the candy from his gentle hold, would jump off him and watch his face

A smile on his cheeks, a glint in the eyes as they met mine

Never knew the reason for the same that time

As life drove me out of my innocence

I was aware of the virtues of man in every sense

All along our journey he was more of a friend to me

From my candy man to a hero he turned out to be

He was the pillar that held us together

Humour and simplicity of his would be remembered forever

Now that he has left us it's not the same anymore

The joyous spirit is lacking in life for sure

When I look up at all stars in the sky

I see one shooting across and wonder why not try

I wish of a chance to talk with my grandpa again

There are some questions I want to ask you for sure

Why didn't you give my little cousins a chance to know you more?

I wish u were around for them like you were for me

So I could hear each of them saying 'a hero you were to me'

This is all I want to hear

Ringing, buzzing in my ears.

Honestly, u bring me memories of my grandpa. He is the most unforgettable person in my life. I guess we have somethings in common. It is very sweet. Simple but touches a chord somewhere deep down!
